Supporting good habits for contact lens wearers

March 16th, 2020

Produced by CORE, and available through contact lens update, there are four patient handouts which eye care practitioners can download, print, and make use of in practice.

The first gives five facts contact lens wearers should know during the COVID-19 pandemic. The second helps wearers of reusable contact lenses take the correct steps to maintain safe cleaning practice, and includes information about hand washing, contact lens and case cleaning. The other two remind contact lens wearers in general, and specifically young people, about several points to be mindful of when wearing contact lenses. This includes good hand hygiene, avoiding water contact, and disposing of contact lenses at the correct interval.
